Large Scale

When the history of the Ryder Cup is discussed on film and TV this painting is the one used to illustrate the competition's origins.

It featured as both painting and print in THE HISTORY OF THE RYDER CUP (Rolex DVD - 2005)

After extensive research, every player who played in the 1926 game between a British and American team in the presence of Samuel Ryder is represented in this ten foot wide painting. This event is usually regarded as the precursor to the Ryder Cup. The first official matches were played at Worcester County Club, Massachusetts, in 1927.

I was commissioned to produce two large paintings by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club to celebrate their 250th anniversary in 2004.

This painting shows past captains of the R&A, together with other members, witnessing the Duke of York accepting the Queen Adelaide Medal after dinner at the Autumn Meeting, becoming captain for 2003/4.
